The vehicle terminal is a real lightweight, weighing in at only 3.4 to 4.7 kg, depending on the equipment. It is operated via a 10'' or 12'' PCAP touch display. Ruggedness is ensured by 3 mm of tempered glass with anti-glare coating that additionally enables users to read the display without distracting reflections even in the sunlight. Even when wearing thick gloves, the display reacts immediately to touch and is always ready for usage. Optionally, the vehicle terminal features an external ABCD or QWERTY keyboard with keyboard software.

If required, a special variant with resistive touch display is available for use in cold storage environments: an internal heating system maintains device functionality even in extreme temperatures down to -30 °C. It performs equally well in heat up to a maximum of 55 °C.

The Rhino II connects with USB, RS-232, Ethernet, Bluetooth 4.0 or WLAN. How? With a custom-built antenna that provides a stable connection even under tough conditions. You have your choice of operating systems, too: Windows Embedded Standard 7, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 64 bit or Android. Because of its internal power supply, the Rhino II may be taken along anywhere. In just a few steps you mount it where you need it. Should the device be disconnected from its external power source, an optional backup battery steps in with 30 minutes of autonomous run time.

Via service contracts the vehicle terminal receives support from Datalogic’s platform »EASEOFCARE«. With it, the Rhino II receives access to a broad range of service offers, with which the maximum productivity and ROI are further increased.
