The MP-78 is very powerful. With its 2,400 mAh lithium-ion battery, it scans up to 100,000 times on a single battery charge. That is the equivalent of 14 hours of operation. Additionally, it enjoys working wirelessly, because the area imager is equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 - so it quickly connects with a computer, smartphone or tablet. Its other interfaces include USB, RS-232, keyboard wedge and TGCS (IBM) 46XX via RS-485. It offers reliable scanning performance up to a range of up to 10 meters. For those who want to get started right away, the MP-78 comes from the factory immediately ready to scan - just unpack it and start scanning!

It also withstands a lot. The MP-78 is resistant to multiple falls from 1.5 m onto concrete and is IP42-protected against the penetration of foreign bodies up to 1 mm and vertically falling dripping water. Its operating temperature is 0 °C to 50 °C and it withstands storage temperatures of -40 °C up to 70 °C. Even a 5 percent up to 95 percent relative humidity (non-condensing) does not bother the area imager.

The MP-78 comes with over 90 international keyboard layouts pre-installed and it supports simple remote management. Thanks to a weight of just 214 g, the area imager is a lightweight.

The movement tolerance of the scanner is up to 130 mm/sec. at UPC. When rotating, the MP-78 withstands up to 360° and a tilt up to ± 65°. When swiveling up to ± 65° are also possible.
